15 Best Wallpapers to Revamp Your Walls in 2023

We've been independently researching and testing products for over 120 years. If you buy through our links, we may earn a commission. Learn more about our review process.

Our favorite lively prints from top brands including Spoonflower, Chasing Paper and Serena & Lily.

Whether with minimal neutrals or maximalist prints, wallpaper continues to make a comeback in home design — in the form of accent walls, wallpapered ceilings and entire spaces. According to interior designers who shared their favorite wallpaper trends, homeowners are loving simple stripes, moody florals, tropical designs and both small- and large-scale prints. From an inviting entryway to the formal dining room, inject character and charm into your home with a print that reflects your personality. If you plan to hire a professional installer or you're looking for a DIY home project, we've rounded up the best wallpapers for 2023.

To compile this list, we considered quality, application type, price, versatility and aesthetics. We included top brands like Serena & Lily, Tempaper and Spoonflower (without a doubt a favorite among our editors). You'll find a mix of neutral and vibrant patterns, as well as papers ranging from super affordable to high-end. We've included peel-and-stick wallpapers ideal for beginner or experienced DIYers. They're a great choice for renters since they're easy to remove. For traditional non-pasted papers and grasscloth wall coverings, you'll have to purchase adhesive and you may want to enlist professional help.

Subtle and soothing, this coastal print has the versatility of a stripe wallpaper but the fluid pattern is meant to replicate the rise and fall of the tide. Although you'll need to buy adhesive for this non-pasted wallpaper, we love the quality that Serena & Lily delivers — plus the brand offers swatches for free. Our Senior Home Editor Monique Valeris went with this print for her dining room makeover, and she loves how the vertical pattern makes her room look more spacious.

In collaboration with interior designer David Quarles IV, Chasing Paper offers this lively pothos print in three colors: Oats, Kale and Cayenne. The collection is inspired by Quarles' history and how familial ancestors — particularly women — have shaped his identity. We love that, depending on your needs, this print is available as a peel-and-stick, traditional or faux glasscloth wallpaper. Samples are available, although you'll have to pay $6 for one.

Fresh florals, vibrant citrus and buzzing bees define this adorable wallpaper design. Spoonflower's peel-and-stick wallpapers have a subtle linen texture, which feels sturdy and holds up well to repeated removals when applying (perfect for first-time DIYers). Don't stop with your walls, though. This playful print is ideal for bookcases, furniture or even crafts.

Floral wallpapers have been trending for a few years now, and they're here to stay — whether you're looking for something vibrant, moody, bold or delicate. Adorned with metallic accents, this cheerful print is available in five colors: black, emerald, pastel multi, sage and white. This peel-and-stick wallpaper from Rifle Paper Co. is easy to reposition and remove, making it a great choice for renters.

Known for its minimal meets bohemian style, Lulu and Georgia introduces this neutral wallpaper made up of abstract ripples. We love the intricate lines — available on a neutral or gray background — for the bedroom, living room, home office or powder room. Note you shouldn't attempt to install this wallpaper yourself, and you will need to buy adhesive separately.

Popular for its intricate designs, Morris & Co. has a classic aesthetic that explores the beauty of leaves, vines and flowers. Our editors love this floral trellis print with its circular shapes and symmetrical patterns — Editorial Styling Director Elisabeth Engelhart even used it for her entry. She went for these soft shades of green, blue and yellow, but the print is available in 13 colors — everything from bright and cheerful to dark and moody.

Fill your little one's room with subtle florals and soft hues, or use this versatile print in a living room, bedroom or entry. Pottery Barn offers this style as peel-and-stick wallpaper with a canvas texture or pre-pasted paper with a lightly textured surface. According to the retailer, both versions are DIY-friendly but beginners should go with the peel-and-stick application. Samples are available for purchase, but they'll cost you $20.

Adorned with songbirds perched on delicate cheery blossom branches, Tempaper's metallic wallpaper adds charm and character to any interior. We love the elegant motif as an accent wall in the bedroom, or as the focal point of a powder room or dining room. You can expect to receive this peel-and-stick wallpaper in one to two days. Just note it's not intended for textured walls.

Three of our favorite wallpaper trends this year: black and white motifs, tiny prints and simple stripes. In a way, this loosely defined herringbone pattern combines all three — plus, the wallpaper roll is considerably more affordable than our other picks. We love this peel-and-stick wallpaper for bedrooms, home offices and entryways — especially if you're trying to achieve a farmhouse aesthetic. The only downside? You're not able to order samples through Home Depot.

Capture the beauty of lush forests with lime green palm leaves against a beige background. The non-pasted wallpaper has a linen texture and is available in seven different colors, including black, pink and taupe. Amazon reviewers are happy with the final look, with one reviewer writing, "I was able to cover my accent wall with two rolls of this and I'm so happy with the look. Paper is vibrant and nice quality." Although there are no samples available, Amazon offers free delivery and free returns.

Although grasscloth was a staple of the '60s and '70s, it's still a popular choice today. It adds natural texture and dimensional weave to your walls, whether you prefer a modern or traditional style. Ballard Design offers a grasscloth wallpaper in rich colors, from neutrals like beige, natural and tan to bolder choices like navy and silver. The thick material is ideal for living rooms, dining rooms and entryways, but be careful applying it in high-moisture spaces like the bathroom or kitchen. It's important to note this pick won't remove in strips, you'll need to use water to remove it.

Among our editors, Spoonflower is a clear favorite — the peel-and-stick design is easy to apply yourself, the woven paper is sturdy and the colors are vibrant. Deputy Editor Jessica Teich loves this whimsical floral print made up of delicate flowers and tiny detailed leaves. Plus, there are more than 10 color options including moody designs with dark green, blue and black backgrounds. When it came to application, Teich says: "The instructions are really clear and it comes with a helpful tool for application. I've had mine up for almost a year and there's some minor creasing and bubbling, but it still looks great and hasn't lifted or peeled."

On par with maximalism, animal prints are popular in 2023 (zebras, leopards, monkeys, birds are a few of our favorites). Tempaper introduces these playful zebras, which are based on an antique pattern found during The Novogratz's Waverly Place renovation project. The design comes in white or red, depending how bold you're willing to go. Samples are available for purchase, although they cost around $7.

Simple stripes will always be in style — they're classic, subtle and versatile. These soothing light blue stripes from Chasing Paper add a whimsical touch to nurseries and kid spaces, or a much-needed pop of color to entryways, dining rooms or bedrooms. Choose from four trendy color options: light blue, marigold, blush and ink.

Simple yet stylish, this concrete design adds texture and a subtle metallic shimmer to your walls. We love how this white and gray design pairs with industrial, farmhouse and modern interiors. The non-pasted paper is affordable at Wayfair, but just note you won't be able to purchase a sample and you'll have to buy adhesive separately.
